In a fractured future where timelines collide, Nikki, a hardened renegade from 2034, hunts down the origins of a cataclysmic event that altered history itself. Armed with advanced technology and a mission fueled by guilt, she recruits Frank, a washed-up vagabond from 2017 with a lost connection to the most dangerous invention of all — the time machine.

As they race through past and present, Nikki reveals a world where history is a fragile construct, rewritten by unseen forces. But when an unrelenting government agent, Maya, tracks them down, loyalties blur, and love clashes with duty. Confronted by betrayals, brutal choices, and haunting truths, Nikki must decide whether redemption lies in destruction or sacrifice.

Time is running out — and some futures are worth killing for.
the timeline
'Before You Set Out' starts in 2017, when Nikki travels back in time to find Frank and tries to convince him to help her fix the timeline.

'Keeping Time', the proposed feature, will start in 2063 when Nikki has first learned of the changes to the timeline and sets out on a mission to recover the lost time machine and change the past, in order to fix her future.

the characters...
Maya
Maya walks through time like she owns it — because, in many ways, she does. A former elite soldier turned operative for the mysterious Chasy Project, she’s smart, striking, and deadly, with the kind of presence that turns heads and halts conversations.
Maya always stays three steps ahead. She’s got secrets buried in every timeline — and a side hustle that’d get her terminated if anyone found out.

Emotionally? Maya keeps it locked down. Feelings are unpredictable, messy — and Maya doesn’t do messy. Except maybe for Nikki. With her, the walls are cracking. Maya plays it cool, but when Nikki threatens to reset the timeline, it rattles her in a way no war or mission ever has. Suddenly, time isn’t something she bends — it’s something that might break her.

She’s not afraid of a fight. She’s afraid of what happens after.

Nikki
Nikki’s not here to play nice. She’s here to reset the rules. She’s got the kind of presence that tells you she’s survived things most people couldn’t imagine. A former frontline soldier in the brutal Russo-Chinese War of the 2190s, she came home with more than just battle scars. Fast, fiercely capable, and built like she never left the fight, Nikki is a quiet storm of strength and precision.

By day, she’s a brilliant IT tech; the one who never comes to after-work drinks and always has an excuse involving her mother. But underneath the surface is a mind running at high speed, medicated with banned drugs and buried trauma. Therapy helped. But it didn’t fix everything. So she keeps her distance. From people. From feelings. From anything that might crack the calm.

Except Maya.

The only person who’s ever started to chip away at the armor. With Maya, trust comes slowly (physically first, emotionally second) but it’s there. And when Nikki learns the truth about time travel, about the government rewriting the past for power, she doesn’t hesitate. She's done hiding. Done surviving. It’s time to fight again - not for orders, but for justice.
Frank
Frank had it all: the looks, the charm, the swagger. A top RAF pilot with nerves of steel and the cockiness to match, he was born to fly fast and break rules. Handpicked to test the first time machine, he was the poster boy for progress: fit, fearless, and dangerously sure of himself.

But arrogance has a shelf life.

When he found out the child he thought was his wasn’t, and that the woman he loved had fallen for someone else, his ego couldn’t take the hit. One drunken, rage-fueled decision later, Frank tore open time itself… and got trapped in the wreckage.

Now? He’s stuck in the past, beard tangled, pride shattered, memory fading. Once a national hero, now a street ghost, stealing to survive and drinking to forget. The cocky edge is dulled, but not gone - beneath the grime, there’s still a fighter in there. Still someone who thinks he can fix this. Maybe.

Frank isn’t the villain. He’s the fallout. The fallout of ambition, heartbreak, and time travel gone terribly wrong.
